Olympus has announced a new waterproof camera to its 2009 line-up, that it describes as the "perfect companion" to take swimming, snorkelling, or even out on a rainy day.The 10-megapixel µ-550WP is waterproof to 3 metres, and boasts a 3x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screen to view your pictures back on.
Other features of the slim-bodied snapper also include digital image stabilisation, Intelligent Auto Mode, face detection technology, and the Perfect Fix function to correct things such as red eye.
Perfect Shot Preview, meanwhile, allows users to preview the effects of different settings such as white balance before taking a shot.
Set to be released in Crystal Blue, Pure White or Midnight Black, the µ-550WP will hit stores from early February 2009. Cameras, Compact cameras, Waterproof cameras, 10 megapixels, Olympus, CES2009
