Panasonic launches HS300 and TM300 HD camcorders

CES 2009: 7 HD camcorders announced

Panasonic today announced an overhaul of its line-up of HD camcorders at CES in Las Vegas.

The new line will see a refresh of their top models the HDC-HS300 and HDC-TM300, both sporting 12x optical zoom and an EVF, which are aimed at the semi pro market.

Joined by smaller siblings, the HDC-HS200 and HDC-SD200, they all feature a three CMOS arrangement, which Panasonic claims leads to “beautiful images even under dim lighting”.

The HS models feature internal HHD (120GB and 80GB respectively), with the option of additional SD recording. The TM features 32GB flash memory and SD recording, whilst the SD model only gives you SD card recording.

For those after an entry-level HD camcorder, the HDC-HS20, HDC-TM20 and HDC-SD20 all offer the Intelligent Auto and AF Tracking as found in the higher models, but based on the 1MOS system. The 20 series also feature 16x optical zoom.

All the models feature optical image stabilisation and a Leica Dicomar lens, shooting in AVCHD, for Full HD 1080p images, as well as touchscreen controls.

All models are available in February 2009, prices to be confirmed.
