Garmin has announced the launch of ecoRoute - a free software update that it says will help drivers save money and fuel. The downloadable software will add new features to compatible Garmin personal navigation devices providing detailed fuel and mileage expense reports, CO2 emission info, more economical routing with cost of journeys revealed, and tips on how to improve driving to become more environmental friendly.
With ecoRoute the fuel cost of a journey is displayed before it begins and nuvi users can then choose "less fuel" to provide the best route to save fuel and money.
The software will also offer a fuel report and mileage reports that can be downloaded to spreadsheets and boasts the option of tailoring the reports with the current price of fuel and make of vehicle to make them more accurate.
Nuvi owners can go to www.garmin.co.uk/ecoroute to see if their device is compatible and the update will be available in February to download. Car And GPS, Garmin, Software, Software updates
