Toshiba offers 500GB designer HDD for £120

Toshiba has launched its designer portable hard disk drive solution in a new, larger 500GB capacity in a monochrome "frost white" colour scheme.

The palm-sized device is on sale from various online retailers now for around £120 - a price tag that Toshiba is angling as cheaper than replacing your hard drive's content in case of disaster.

With the average home PC user with nearly 2000 digital photos and nearly 2500 digital music files on their computer, a new year could mean a new start for a back-up regime, Tosh is suggesting.

The new Toshiba HDD packs half a terabyte of mobile storage, boasts out the box operation and claims space for 130 computer games, 131,000 MP3 music files or 142,000 digital photos.
