Western Digital has issued a software update for its WD TV media player that was launched in November.

The company says the software update, 1.01, updates the user interface as well as improves the media player's functionality and capabilities.

Apparently the update will also "further enhance the performance, reliability and stability of the product" with improved subtitle support and improved power management promised, among other tweaks.

Following user feedback, the changes include added support for file formats like .MTS, .TS and .TP.

WD TV owners who want to update their device should log onto the WD official website, click on the WD TV 1.01 product update logo and just follow the instructions.
