With a "magic seal"

In the States, Logitech has announced two new additions to its MetroFi line of Ultimate Ears by Logitech earphones.

The new MetroFi 170 and MetroFi 220 noise-isolating earphones claim to deliver "customised comfort that's perfect for listening to music on an iPod".

Promising a "magic seal" between your ear and the outside world, therefore "dramatically limiting" ambient noise, the MetroFi 170s and the 220s provide 16 dBs of noise isolation.

With three silicone ear-cushions to choose from, the earphones include a red-coloured right earphone to help distinguish between left and right earphones and come complete with a pocket-sized carrying case.

In addition, Logitech are offering iPhone- and BlackBerry-compatible models – the MetroFi 170vi and MetroFi 220vi earphones – with voice-integrated technology for handsfree calling.

The suggested prices for the MetroFi 170 and the MetroFi 220 noise-isolating earphones are $49.99 and $79.99 while the MetroFi 170vi and the MetroFi 220vi earphones are $59.99 and $89.99 respectively.

These Ultimate Ears by Logitech products are expected to be available in February in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
