Queen's speech sees start of sale shopping

Marks & Spencer, Comet, Argos and John Lewis all start sales today

It might seem hard to believe for those of us who will just be happy to lie groaning on the sofa full of too much turkey and trimmings, but the Queen's Christmas day speech at 3pm marks the start of online sales shopping.

Apparently millions of people will use the Queen's speech as the signal to begin their online bargain hunting, according to research from Transaction Partnership who are warning retailers to be ready.

Surprisingly last year, Christmas day was one of the biggest shopping days, and this year it is predicted that over 5.2 million people will go online, more than will attend church.

And, there are plenty of retailers beginning their sales on Christmas day to make firing up the PC worth it, including Marks & Spencer, Comet, Argos, Halfords and John Lewis.
