Sky's bid for Tiscali being "re-examined"

Take-over plans abandoned?

Sky's current £450 million bid for Tiscali is under doubt.

Sky has apparently "stepped back to re-examine" its bid for the UK business of broadband provider Tiscali over doubts over the company's value.

Talks, that have been ongoing since November, are now said to have stalled over how much the company - and its 1.8m UK broadband customers - is worth.

Carphone Warehouse walked away from talks back in the summer, said to be because of price, and Vodafone is said to have done the same a few months earlier.
