Microsoft offers free download to stop hidden secrets getting out into the open

Microsoft has released a free software download on the Microsoft Office update site that will allow users to quickly remove changes and comments made in an Excel or Word document.

Currently Microsoft Word and Excel allow multiple users to add comments and changes to documents for all to see. While internally this is a great feature, it can cause awkwardness if the file is inadvertently sent to people outside the editing ring showing all the editing marks.

Currently there is a way to delete these comments, but it has been cumbersome and laboured Microsoft hope that the new tool will simplify the process and reduce the number of apologies and embarrassments in the future.
