Six areas in Wales, previously known as "not-spots" due to their lack of connectivity, are to get broadband, the Welsh Assembly has confirmed.Villagers in one "black hole" area, Gwytherin in Conwy, had threatened BT with legal action over the lack of coverage.
The Assembly said that "preparatory work will start immediately to 'broadband enable' the lines serving the west Wales communities of Reynalton, Saundersfoot, Llanpumsaint and Bronwydd Arms, Cilcennin in Ceredigion and Gwytherin in north Wales".
The work will be carried out as part of the assembly government's Regional Innovative Broadband Support (RIBS) contract with BT.
Deputy first minister Leuan Wyn Jones, said: "It is vitally important that businesses and families have good access to broadband in all parts of Wales". Software, Broadband, BT
