Microsoft offers Live Search for iPhone

But as a special site, rather than an app

19 December 2008 15:16 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

In an interesting move, Microsoft is getting the word out about its new Live Search that's "iPhone-friendly", but not available as an Apple-approved application for the platform.

iPhone owners who want to try the application can go to m.live.com on their iPhone's browser to use the Microsoft-made mobile search engine.

With the dig "as an iPhone fan you probably know that you can't change your iPhone's default search engine[s]", Microsoft's mobile team has posted the news on MacRumors' forum.

Microsoft launched its first official iPhone app this month with the availability of Seadragon mobile - a zooming photo tool - for the platform.
