With a 15% interest charge

19 December 2008 11:27 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Vodafone UK has announced the introduction of Vodafone "IOU", an out of credit service for its pay as you talk customers.

Created so that customers can always use their phone when they can't top up, those who add the service will get £2 calling credit to use when their credit runs out.

For the ability to "borrow" the £2 of IOU credit Vodafone will take a service charge of 30p the next time a customer tops up, along with the deduction of the £2.

Customers can use their IOU credit for voice, text or data services, including mobile internet browsing and music track downloads.

Customers can set up the IOU service by texting "IOU" to "468" or by calling 468 from their handset.
