TomTom Map Share hits five million updates milestone

And boasts five million users

TomTom has announced that members of the TomTom Map Share community have made a total of five million map updates worldwide.

The TomTom Map Share community has grown from half a million users at the beginning of 2008 to more than five million users today.

Map Share allows TomTom customers to make improvements to their map instantly on their TomTom navigation device, that, once verified by moderators, are made available to the Map Share community.

The improvements to Map Share have seen hundreds of thousands of street names added and almost one million roads that were either shown as incorrectly blocked or incorrectly shown open now updated.
