New Mac mini to be announced at Macworld

Apple insider spills the beans

16 December 2008 9:37 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Apple is to finally announce an upgrade to its "affordable" desktop Mac, the mini, at January's Macworld event.

This is sure to please fans of the little computer, that's been fairly unloved by Apple of late with no refresh since August 2007, as it had been rumoured for the chop.

The news is from an anonymous Apple corporate employee who contacted Wired.com, but did not provide specs or say exactly what the upgrade would be.

Likely improvements will be greener credentials, an aluminium make-over, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, an Nvidia video card and possibly a lower price tag.
