Microsoft has launched its first iPhone application with the release of Seadragon Mobile for iPhone and iPod touch.

Seadragon, previously available as a Silverlight application for desktop use, has been reworked for the iPhone platform.

The software lets users see "giga-pixel images" on their iPhone and claims to bring the same "smooth" image browsing you get on the PC to the mobile platform.

The app lets users get "super-close" on a map or photo, with a few pinches or taps of your finger and enables browsing an entire collection of photos from a single screen.

Seadragon Mobile is available for free at the iTunes App Store.
