IWF backs down over flagged Wikipedia image
Page unblocked

The IWF has formally withdrawn its objection to the Wikipedia page that it had described as "potential illegal child sexual abuse".The contentious page contained a image of German rock band The Scorpion's album cover for "Virgin Killer" that depicted a young, naked girl.
The IWF had flagged the image leading to the page being blocked by a number of UK ISPs that had signed up to be guided by the online watchdog.
In a statement the IWF said that the image could still potentially breach the Protection of Children Act 1978, but "in light of the length of time the image has existed and its wide availability, the decision has been taken to remove this webpage from our list".
