O2 is the latest operator to launch a SmartPhone device from HTC under the guise of its own brand. Today's offering from the England Rugby sponsors is the O2 Xda Mini S, a model that is virtually identical to T-Mobile's MDA Vario.

Housed in the same casing as the MDA Vario, the O2 Xda Mini S also features the same specs and runs on a TI OMP 850 200 MHz processor and is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 2005 Pocket PC Phone operating system.

Likewise just like the Vario, the model features a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera and supports MMS, email, Infrared, Bluetooth® 2.0, or Wireless LAN.

The phone features a 39-key slide-out keyboard and a 2.8 inch 64K-colour TFT-LCD touch screen.

The O2 Xda Mini S is available from £260 (dependent on tariff and subject to availability) for pay monthly contract customers and will be available from November 2005 in UK O2 stores, direct and indirect channels, as well as other leading distributors.
