The world's second mobile phone based on the Android operating system has been announced by an Australian company.The Kogan Agora, and the Kogan Agora Pro, are currently on pre-order in Oz with shipping promised on 29 January 2009.
The Agora will cost $299 (Australian dollars) while the Pro will be $399 and follows the launch in October of T-Mobile's G1 with Google, made by HTC.
Both 3G handsets, the phones boast multimedia and internet capabilities and get a QWERTY candybar design with a 2.5-inch touchscreen.
The phones will give users all the Google goodness that Android offers, such as GMail, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google, and YouTube as well as a customisable homescreen and apps from the Android Market.
The Kogan Agora offers Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and a microSD card slot while the Pro's extra $100 gets you Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and a 2-megapixel camera.
Kogan is offering the devices to international customers, with pricing for each handset, including international shipping coming in at $343.85 (£152) and $458.85 (£203). Phones, Mobile phones, Android, Google, Kogan
