Virgin Media is revamping its mobile portal and it will launch next Monday (8 December).

The portal will provide news, music, video, games and entertainment, but Virgin Media has also done a deal so that its phone customers will also be able to access Yahoo's mobile search offering, Yahoo oneSearch.

This search engine is designed specifically for browsing on the go as it returns results directly in the first screen.

This means that phone owners don't have to navigate through thousands of links to find the information they want, saving time.

Yahoo is now claiming that it has an 80% market share of the UK mobile search audience following on from similar exclusive deals with Orange, O2, 3 and T-Mobile.

Worldwide, it is working with more than 70 telecoms companies with more than 850 million mobile subscribers.
