TrekStor has launched its second external multimedia hard disk, the strangely named MovieStation pocket c.uc. The c.uc lets users play the digital videos, photos and music stored on the device directly to a TV or hi-fi system via an on-screen menu.

New to the c.uc is a memory card slot compatible with SD, MMC and xD cards of up to a slightly stingy 2GB storage capacity. The TrekStor MovieStation pocket c.uc can play videos in MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 format including DivX and Xvid files and music and audio books in MP3, WMA and WAV files. It also supports JPEG format.

Complete with Nero BackItUp 2 Essentials software for auto back-ups, soft-touch casing, remote control, power supply, AV and YUV adapter cables, a SCART adapter, software CD and a multilingual user guide, prices range from £99.99 for the 250GB models to £139.99 for the 500 Gigger.

  • I got the 250gb version today for 111€ at mediamarkt, the 500gb version was 199€ a big jump in price. There is already a firmware update on the Trekstor site. Very easy to update. It is not battery powered or usb powered, you need the power supply plugged in. I think for a portable device like this a pouch/case should be included.Works great in DVD or xvid mode, very easy to use. When connected to my PC the bright blue USB and R/W indicator lights are a bit annoying in low light conditions Posted by Jimbo, Germany
