In the first of our Credit Crunch Christmas gift suggestions, we are bringing you news of an offer from online retailer eXpansys that sees £55 off the cost of a WowWee Rovio mobile Wi-Fi webcam robot. However, you'll have to be quick smart about it if you want to nab the bot at its reduced price - the reduction from £254.99 to £199.99 including VAT is only active between 11am and 4pm UK time on Monday 1 December.
Rovio is a Wi-Fi equipped mobile webcam that enables you to view and interact with its environment through streaming video and audio, wherever you are.
Owners can control Rovio remotely 24/7 from anywhere in the world using any web-enabled device, a PC or Mac, mobile phone, PDA or even a video game console.
The self-docking bot has a built-in light for dark conditions, and can store navigational way points that Rovio will move to at the remote press of a button.
Rovio would make a good gift for older children who want to check the security of their bedrooms hasn't been breached by younger siblings while they are out, or could be a fun present for bigger kids of the more grown-up variety.
