Virgin Mobile launches 30p per day mobile internet

"Cheaper than a pack of crisps"

1 December 2008 0:01 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

From 8 December, Virgin Mobile customers can get mobile web access for 30p a day.

To coincide with the offer, the operator is promising an "enhanced" Virgin Media-branded mobile web portal, bringing the world of news, music, video, games and entertainment "straight to your pocket".

The 30p daily charge will include unlimited access to all websites via the portal with a focus on music, video and games downloads as well as a deep range of editorial content in key areas such as news, sports, music, entertainment, TV and movies.

  • Not one of the sites reporting this news has sufficiently investigated to realise that Virgin currently offer the Bites service free to contract users, and those users will therefore now effectively have £9 added to their bill if they continue to use the service in the same way.

This is a major price hike to what should be the most valued customers.
