Yahoo sells Kelkoo

For a good 300 million euros less than it paid

24 November 2008 11:59 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Yahoo is reported to have sold shopping comparison site Kelkoo.

Kelkoo, based in Paris, was bought by Yahoo in 2004 for 475 million euros, but has now been sold on to a UK-based company.

Techcrunch reports Kelkoo has been bought by a private equity firm called Jamplant for "something less than 100 million euros", according to its sources.

A leaked press release reads: "Jamplant is very excited about the price comparison space, and being able to help Kelkoo continue its rapid growth..."

"...Kelkoo should be able to accelerate its growth much faster as a standalone company."
