• I think it is a nice idea, but the surprises come with a lot of restrictions. I prefer 02 treats because you get a wider selection of things you can have, and 02 rewards is great because it extends the value of credit. Posted by Paul, UK

  I’ve been receiving the reward codes each time that I top up and have visited 02’s website numerous times to play both the silver and gold games.
  
  All goes well to begin with. I am able to enter my mobile number and reward code as required and I even get to hook a duck (or 2 when playing the gold game).
  
  Problem is when I go to collect my prize I am met with the message that says: ‘There was an error preventing you from collecting your prize’. SO HELPFUL!!!!
  
  I have now spent almost 2 months making phone calls to 02’s customer services dept at 25p per call (from my mobile) and have been told various different things including:
  
  1. To try and claim my prize again in 24 hours. (Doesn't work still!)
  2. They are experiencing technical problems which will be rectified shortly. (After 2 months of trying is this still the reason?)
  3. The problem is my computer and to try and claim from somebody elses! (Not true as had the same result when trying from no less than 4 others!)
  
  Also whenever I call 02 they promise that an advisor will phone me back within 24 hours and each time I wait 3 days before phoning them again!
  
  Oh , by the way - I wouldn’t bother emailing your complaint either as they don’t acknowledge it let alone respond!
  
  I’ve sent all these details to BBC’s Watchdog website - perhaps they’ll have more luck investigating this!
  
  The more of you that report this to them the better chance we all have of getting our so called prizes!

• here's a weird thing the site is not accessable from my desk top but it is accessable from my laptop, when i say accessable i mean i can get on to the page with both computer's but i can only enter my phone number and code useing the laptop, with the desk top it,s just like it's a picture. • yeah its a load of shite. after topping up say over twenty quid and they give you 15 minutes to other o2 mobiles youd feel kind of defeated..
  they should at least let you choose your surprise. if we stop topping up they wouldnnt be doing too good they should take into consideration the fact they rely on us and should gived us a bit more of a decent reward.

• O2 surprises. very annoying. The codes only stay valid for a certain time before they expire. the prizes they offer are of no use what so ever (most of us have free texts / wap time. the more bizzare prizes i have won are free calls to other o2 phones. free calls for a day between 6 and 7 pm
  it takes ages for the surprises page to load too. talk about waisting my time.
  
  surely BBC watchdog can do something to sort out this ridiculos promotion or even better is there an MP who can help and sort out the marketing team at O2.

• I suggest that people look into alternatives to O2 on the grounds of call costs instead of gimmicky prizes. Tesco at 10p minute to landlines and other mobiles so long as you spend £15 per month, Asda at 8p minute to other mobiles as well as land lines. If you buy an Asda sim card (50p) there are instructions provided showing how to keep your number if you make the move. I for one am tired of paying o2 inflated charges.
