ASA upholds 3's complaint against T-Mobile

More misleading ads in the mobile phone industry

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned recent T-Mobile adverts on the basis of them being misleading.

Brought to the ASA's attention by rival operator 3, the ads were part of T-Mobile's "You won't find more minutes for £30. Guaranteed" campaign.

3 said the ads were misleading, as its Mix & Match 1100 tariff, which offers up to 1100 voice minutes for £27, is more competitive.

T-Mobile argued that 3's plan was not comparable but the ASA was having none of it and has told T-Mobile that the press ad and brochure must not appear again in their current form.
