There's always been a certain innocent charm to the BBC's Antiques Roadshow.

All those blue-rinsers sitting earnestly listening to the resident expert prattle on about great Auntie Gladys's old teapot, all the while managing to surpress the urge to scream "just tell me how much it's worth!" It was gentle and mildly entertaining.

That's what makes this headline-grabbing "highest-ever valuation" seem just a little wrong. Just an opinion, mind you.
