The iEXPO 2008 trade show in Japan saw the unveiling of a new robot who is designd just to do one thing - be an ATM for virtual cash.

FeLiCa was designed by a team over at NEC as is basically a payment terminal.

On "her" arm, she has a reader to check your bank account details and she also has a full touchscreen that allows you to choose the e-money application that you need.

FeLiCa is also equipped with face recognition technology.

And FeLiCa is not a concept but is ready for deployment across high streets around the world.
