Art Lebedev redesigns the zebra crossing
"Air Crosswalk" concept revealed

12 November 2008 14:12 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott
The Art Lebedev Studio has turned its design attentions to the zebra crossing, with the idea to improve the current concept by double marking the safe spot with "illuminated stripes" above the road.
As well as improve visibility for drivers to see people on the crossing in the dark, the overhead lighting will ensure pedestrians can see where's safe to cross even on snow-covered road.
The first Air Crosswalks will appear in 2009 in Tumen, Russia, where this project has been approved by the local police department.
