Nokia launches E63

As-rumoured Eseries for the mass market

Nokia launches E63

Nokia has announced the launch of the E63, an Eseries smartphone that we got a glimpse of following some leaks earlier this year.

Nokia says the new phone is designed for people "who need to manage their business and personal lives equally well".

Building on the success of the Nokia E71, the Vodafone Pocket-lint award winner for best email device, the Nokia E63 is said to bring the QWERTY keyboard form factor "to a broader audience at a great price".

With a design that's said to feel "great in the hand" in two colours, the E63 has the ability to switch modes with a key press, switching from a view of corporate mail, appointments and intranet data, to a personal mode with a picture of friends, personal email and shortcuts to favorite hobby blogs or websites.

The Nokia E63 also includes Files on Ovi, with anyone buying the handset given access to 1GB of online file storage for free.

The phone has a camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other specs are yet to be revealed.

The Nokia E63 will be available in ruby red or ultramarine blue and is expected to begin shipping in the coming weeks for an estimated retail price of 199 euros, before taxes and subsidies.
