We've seen a few netbooks slash Leopard mods but none come close, or are as well documented, to this MacBook "Nano" made from an MSI U100.

  • wow, that was so concise I wonder if you had even taken time to read what was subtext on the above page..

Yes, we're all perfectly aware its not an actual branded mac. Thank you for missing that. The fact of the matter is that netbooks are becoming incredibly popular alternatives to large cumbersome and bloated laptops, trimming down the features to what most people need for on the go. The Air, which was seemingly apple's answer to lighter equipment for the traveling OS X user did not niche with this growing demand, which readily got filled with PC users of both Linux and Windows variety.

If you had bothered to look, you would have found out that there is a very high demand for something this size that runs OS X for the mac enthusiast, and frankly there are many, MANY laptops, desktops and now netbooks which with little to no tweaking will run leopard right out of the box . it just so happens that the MSI wind has developed a rather large following, and being a fairly good match in both size, features and its portability to the OS, has thus received its fair share of mods.

Not to mention, as you so eloquently put it, the differential in price. 400$ for a 1500$ macbook at a fraction of the size. I can see why people might be slightly more interested than you've given them credit for.

    Cheers.

  • Hi Jeff,
Have you had trouble with the laptop paint job (over time)? I realize this part's just for fun - but it would suck to find out only later that the spray paint sticks to your hands, or scratches off too easily. THx in advance for any advice.
