LaCie launches Internet Space

Networked storage

7 November 2008 13:52 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

LaCie has announced Internet Space, design by Neil Poulton, described as an easy-to-use network hard disk.

The device offers storage for "digital home libraries" and is accessible through the Internet anytime, even when the local computer is turned off.

With a set-up said to take "just minutes", the Internet Space provides shared storage for home computers and UPnP or DLNA certified players/adapters, as well as a personal web portal for remote access and content sharing.

LaCie says users can "interface with" the Internet Space, through any internet connection by logging on to www.homelacie.com.

This portal allows authorised users to access stored content, download it and upload new files from anywhere.

With streaming abilities too, the Internet Space comes in 500GB or 1TB capacities with a price tag starting at £129.
