"Will tip traditional communication on its head"

3 is poised to reveal its first own-branded "Inq" handset that's due to have a social networking twist.

The phone is due to debut to the press on 13 November - a launch that will be attended by social networking giant Facebook.

Inq is the newly created handset brand from 3's parent company Hutchison Whampoa that promises "something pretty exciting".

Previous reports have suggested that there are five or six new handsets in the pipeline for the next year, said to be priced from around $50.

The invite from 3 states: "Come and see the piece of technology we believe will tip traditional communication on its head".

Pocket-lint will be attending the event and will bring you more as we have it.
