Sony confirms DSC-T9 digital camera launch in UK

New 6 megapixel camera in the Cyber-shot range

As we stated yesterday, Sony has launched a new compact digital camera in the UK from its T-series range.

The new Cyber-shot T9 will feature 6.0 Megapixels, Super SteadyShot, High Sensitivity, ZEISS 3x Optical Zoom and Large 2.5 inch LCD screen.

These features are all encased within a credit-card sized aluminium body less than 19mm thick and weighing only 134g.

Sony state that the inclusion of Super SteadyShot reduces camera shake for crystal clear photos, and combined with the camera's High Sensitivity, blurry images are a thing of the past.

Sony has also included double ‘anti-blur' technology so you can shoot in difficult conditions, such as low light, without the risk or hand shake blurring your pictures. Something we've found affected previous models.

The inclusion of Super SteadyShot optical image stabiliser automatically compensates for ‘hand-shake' and vibrations to produce sharp digital pictures.

In addition, the Cyber-shot T9 features a built-in Slideshow with Music function for a truly rich slide show experience. Allowing you yo play them back in a variety of slide show styles: select from 'Active', 'Simple', 'Stylish' and 'Nostalgic' modes and your pictures will be shown at random accompanied by a choice of four pre-set background music melodies to complement the mood.

You can even add background music of you own choice using the supplied Picture Package software. You can select the Music Transfer function to add your own music (MP3 or CD music) to the camera's internal memory to further personalise your slide shows.

The camera will be available in the UK in January.
