Win a Pure One Elite DAB radio

All you have to do is comment on a story

4 November 2008 9:20 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Pav62 from the UK has won the Sony Photo Printer in this month's comments competition for giving an insightful review on the LG 32PG6000 television.

Well done Pav62.

To everyone else - thanks for entering we had some really good comments on everything to interesting takes on the biggest stories to people helping each other out fixing problems with their tech.

But fear not, because a new month means a new competition.

This month we are giving away another great prize. Fancy a chance in winning a DAB radio from PURE? Then getting commenting.

The PURE ONE Elite features include ReVu for live DAB radio pause and rewind, Intellitext which allows the radio to store scrolling text; tone or radio alarm; countdown and sleep timers; 50 station presets; separate bass and treble controls; USB socket for future updates; aux input for your MP3 player; and textSCAN, which lets listeners pause and control scrolling text, giving them time to jot down any details.

The rules of the competition are simple, you can enter as many times as you like by simply commenting on any story. At the end of the month we will pick the best comment and they will get a prize.

You don't have to sign up to comment on the stories, we just ask for your name, location and email address - that does not show up online and is not passed on.

We will be contacting you via email so make sure you use the right one in the form when you file a comment. Last's month's first choice of winner didn't so they missed out on the prize. We won't be sharing this email with anyone else.

So what you waiting for? Get commenting...

This month's competition will end on the 3rd December.

And please, just commenting on this story that you want to win isn't going to help you win. We want good thought out comments rather than "Pick me, pick me".

  • DAB in he Netherlands is no where near as fara dvanced as in the UK - with KPN providing mainly simulacasts (of your FM services) on the single National Multiplex. Additionaly, there are few opportunities to experience the numerous Data services that are making their way onto the UK's large nuber of Local, Regional an National Multiplexes

The UK's range of Unnique to Digital services combined with the new Data Based services (including EPG, Slide Show etc) and the higher "in building" availability of the Signal, make the UK the ideal location for experiencing what has to bee seen as the only sensible future of Radio - and even of Mobile Television vwith the associated T-DMB technology.

  • Millions of years BC (before clarity) I was a bad listener with no patience for chasing the frequencies of antediluvian radios..it was a primordial soup of noise. DAB has brought wireless into the 21st century and made me a good listener. Posted by Yvonne Rautenbach, UK
  • I have already a Humax PVR for my Freeview set-up. Unfortunately I am in a very poor reception area. Therefore I need to seriously think of Freesat. I would certainly buy another Humax product because the PVR9200T that I own, is amazing value for money. An extremely well made piece of technology. The fact that they are bringing out a PVR for Freesat is great news. But, in agreement with other comments, surely it should be priced alongside the Freeview recorder.
I might have to hang back a while and see where the price goes. Maybe a Freesat supplier will offer it on conjunction on a 'Special Deal'.

  • With a DAB radio from PURE .
There is so much that it can do.
You can read the display screen, for the name of every song.
And find out what radio station your on.
And the quality of sound will blow your mind away.
Its a radio that will bring pleasure every single day.

  • Where I live in Hull, East Yorkshire I can tune in most stations. It's lovely to be able to see the information of tracks band/artist & tune being played or on Classic FM the composers name and the piece being layed. Top marks to the inventor/s of the system, so easy to tune and the near CD sound quality makes listening a pleasure. Posted by Neville Blythe, United Kingdom
  • I think radio flyer is one of the best fantastic greatest intensifying incredible realistic amazing spectacular films ever to be broadcasted. Posted by zuber ahmed, england
  • I have been researching the market for a good allround DAB, ideally with an alarm sleep and good quality sound. What is interesting in the DAB published opinions is the thought of DAB becoming the next "Beta" product on the market.

This may be true however at the moment the market is growing and radios are selling and if, even for a short time, if DAB crashes, the DAB provides great clear listening and is worth the investment.
I imagine in smaller audiences like in the country, away from cities, the DAB reception would be limited. However this is my personal thought.

Who knows where the DAB market is taking us however it is great for marketing statistcs and such. What will be next?
    Regards,
    Scott.

  • Just came across this article which was written almost 10 years ago now - I can say that I've been very happy with DAB radios over the years and they really have enhanced the way in which I listen to the radio - especially the ability to pause, record, and rewind live radio! The prices of many radios are also quite affordable now and there are some great looking designs around! I've got a website on DAB radios called Digital Pure Radio - please check it out if you get a chance - I'd love your feedback on it. Posted by Peter James, UK
