Asus boss Jerry Shen has revealed that the company plans to offer an Eee PC next year priced at $200.
This is apparently as a result of the company adjusting its mid-range and entry-level Eee PC's pricing and market position.
Shen also stated that 7- and 8.9-inch Eee PCs will slowly be phase out of the market to be replaced by 10-inch products.
Asus has shipped 2.5 million notebooks in the first half of this year, 1.7 million units in the third quarter and is expecting to ship 1.9 million units in the fourth quarter, that will see the company's total shipments in 2008 to over six million units.
Also revealed it that Asus has an internal, and unofficial, shipment goal of 20 million notebooks and netbooks in 2009.
