Now Google wants to book your holiday as well

Google Flight lets you search flight details

31 October 2005 19:45 GMT / By Stuart Miles

The Internet search site has quietly launched a new service on Google.com called Google Flight that will search the Internet for flight details for you when you type in two airport codes from any airport on the globe.

When users do so, the search engine takes them to a search results page that prompts the user to enter departing and returning flight dates. Below the two boxes are links to Expedia, Hotwire and Orbitz sites in America.

We tested the system using London heathrow (LHR) and New York City (NYC) and got the following results:

http://www.google.com/
search?hl=en&q=lhr+nyc&btnG=Google+Search

Clicking on one of those links leads directly to flight options for your selected itinerary on that site so you can then book your holiday with the minimum of fuss.

The service is currently only available to American users of Google.
