Zi Corp signs phone speech to text tech deal

Partners up with TravellingWave for new possibilities in mobile messaging

Two mobile phone software developers have teamed up to improve the predictive text and speech to text tech that is currently available to phone users.

TravellingWave and Zi Corporation have signed a non-exclusive integration license to effectively combine TravellingWave’s VoicePredict speech-to-text software with Zi Corporation’s eZiText and eZiType text-prediction.

And they promise that the deal will mean more accurate speak and type text messages.

Seattle-based TravellingWave develops software, using speech recognition technology, for entering text into mobile devices.

Zi Corporation, which is best known for its predictive text tools, already has lots software featured on more than 1000 handset models.
