Casio gets tough with G-Shock GWM5600-1
Classic shape, shock-resistant design

The new G-Shock GWM5600-1 watch is claimed to deliver no less than "non-stop, self-adjusting technology in a classic G-Shock style body".
Harkening back to some of its earliest design, Casio has gone for a classic square shape including a forged stainless steel case back.
The clock is built around Casio's tough solar and multi-band 5 Atomic timekeeping technology.
The Non-Stop Tough Solar Power provides energy via a tiny solar panel which is combined with a large-capacity rechargeable battery.
Casio claims this delivers highly accurate and reliable timekeeping, while the Self-Adjusting Multi-Band 5 Atomic Timekeeping Technology receives time calibration signals automatically from up to 5 transmitters around the world (US, Germany, UK, two in Japan) and updates settings accordingly.
This technology even adjusts for Leap Year and Daylight Saving Time.
