Hercules has announced the Dualpix Infinite webcam to be launched this November.

The company claims it delivers "infinitely superior technical specifications, boasting many firsts, unprecedented software functionality and an elegant design with a high tech black lacquered and brushed steel finish for £69.99."

Said to be the first webcam to offer a wide-angle auto focus lens (approx 70 degrees) in this price category, this functionality is said to be ideal for situations where users wish to film groups of people and get them all in the frame.

The Dualpix Infinite offers a high-fidelity multi-directional microphone with a noise-cancelling function and a high resolution sensor. The webcam boasts a photographic resolution of 7.6 million pixels and a video resolution of 2 million pixels.

The new Hercules Xtra Controller software, bundled with the webcam, lets users can show pictures, their movies or videos instantly within the webchat. They can also display an item from their Windows desktop.

Hercules Dualpix Infinite will be available in November 2008 for SRP £69.99.
