Philips has unveiled a new MP3 player that offers a Bluetooth hook-up with your mobile phone.

The GoGear LUXE is a flash-based MP3 player with dual mikes and Bluetooth v2.1 that will pair wirelessly with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile to let you answer calls with the music stopping for this purpose.

The player offers 2GB capacity, a one-line LCD for music info and to view the caller's number, an FM tuner and a claimed 10 hours playback or 100 hours standby.

The LUXE also gets Philips' proprietary FullSound for what's said to be CD-quality enhancement of digitally compressed tracks.

Available in silver or red, the device "can be worn like a broach" and will cost around the $100 mark when it launches in Singapore next month.

There's no news yet on a European release.
