Buffalo Technology has unveiled the DriveStation 2Share which offers consumers the choice of two storage options.

It can be used as an external hard drive to back up a single PC, or networked to allow access to shared files from several computers in the network.

The unit can be operated as a USB-attached storage device for one computer, or switched to NAS mode to allow multiple users to share files within a network.

Buffalo promises easy set up and use with both options, there's a power saving utility and Buffalo's TurbuUSB and Secure Lock software bundled.

The DriveStation 2Share is available now priced at around £87 for 500GB, £94 for the 640GB version and £129.99 for the 1TB whopper.
