This year's nominations for the 2005 Pocket-lint.co.uk awards for BEST DIGITAL CAMERA (PROSUMER) are:The
Nikon F6
Seems that Nikon haven't lost their touch in making cameras that make you want to don body armour and charge after the action. Beefy, beautiful & black
The Canon 350D
As an entry level DSLR this is great stuff, providing great pictures with little effort in a lightweight body
The Nikon D50
The Nikon D50 makes a stunning entry level model for those switching to digital from film or moving up from a digital compact
Epson R-D1 Digital Rangefinder
The R-D1 provides plenty of camera cachet for any photographer thanks to its unique combination of old and modern and superb image quality
Konica Minolta Dynax 5D
Konica Minolta could be accused of coming to the budget D-SLR party a tad late, but now it has made its bow with the Dynax 5D (a slightly tweaked version of the Dynax 7D), it has done so with a little corker of a camera. It's up agianst Nikon's D70s, Pentax's *ist-DL and Canon's EOS 350D to name a few but it is every bit good as its competition
The awards will be held on the 1 December 2005 and include any product that has been launched in the UK since the 1 December 2004.
There are 13 categories including the Pocket-lint Readers Award sponsored by Vodafone where you will have your say rather than the judges on the best gadget from all the nominations of 2005.
Voting for the gadget of the year will start on 1 November 2005 and finish on 30 November 2005.
