Google Android G1 gets firmware update

"Enhancements" plus one bug fix

23 October 2008 11:33 GMT / By Katie Scott

It's been available for a matter of weeks, but Google and T-Mobile have already posted a firmware update for the G1 smartphone.

The update doesn't do anything major, according to online reports.

It fixes one bug that "is visible to customers which makes all songs from Amazon available for listening”.

It also includes "enhancements" - but doesn't stipulate what these are.

The update will be available from today (23 October) until 25 October, and those Android fans who get their phone after this date, will receive the update within 2- to 3-days after the G1 has been activated.

New G1 handsets supplied by HTC will have the update pre-loaded.
