HP launches iPAQ Voice Messenger and Data Messenger

Two new smartphones to launch with Vodafone

HP has launched two new iPAQ smartphones that will be available in the UK on a handset-only basis, as well as through Vodafone.

The HP iPAQ Voice Messenger and the HP iPAQ Data Messenger will be offered by Vodafone's business sales channel.

The HP iPAQ Voice Messenger is a 3G smartphone with 2.4-inch QVGA screen and an integrated 20-key keypad that allows users to access voice, email, internet browsing and GPS applications.

The HP iPAQ Data Messenger is a 3G smartphone with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, full slide-out alphanumeric keyboard and built-in GPS capabilities.

Both 3G smartphones feature a five-way optical navigation button that provides a "gliding" sensation when scrolling through menus, intelligent predictive text, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity and Google Maps.

Running Windows Mobile 6.1, there's integrated Microsoft Windows Live Messenger, and support for Microsoft Exchange environments.

The phones have 8GB of microSD storage and 3.1-megapixel auto focus cameras with built-in LED flash and 5X digital zoom.

HP iPAQ customers can choose from more than 250 entertainment or business software titles and download up to four of them at no additional charge by visiting http://www.ipaqchoice.com/uk.

The HP iPAQ Voice Messenger is expected to be available in November for £333 while the HP iPAQ Data Messenger will costs around £399. Pricing through Vodafone is expected to be announced in November.
