Maplin is offering an "electronic remote control firework launcher" in time for Bonfire Night.

The gizmo claims to dramatically reduce the chance of injury by launching fireworks without a flame and at a safe distance.

Battery powered and portable, it's programmed to only store one remote ID at a time, ensuring there is no risk of accidentally setting off the neighbours' fireworks.

With a launch distance of up to 25 metres, up to five fireworks can be set off in sequence at one time with a 12-second safety timer.

The new "Launch Kontrol Remote Firework Launcher", product code A55JA, is available from Maplin for a special offer price of £19.99.
