Mobile phone use causing skin rashes

Dermatologists issue warning

The British Association of Dermatologists has warned that those who use mobiles phones for long periods of time could develop an allergic skin rash.

The health body says that people may develop rashes on their cheeks or ear due to the nickel contained in some mobile phones.

The "issue" has apparently come to light after several reports of patients with unexplained skin disorders.

Nickel is used in the cases or buttons of some mobile phones, and, unsurprisingly those with a nickel intolerance are said to be more at risk.

Dr Graham Lowe, from the British Association of Dermatologists has dubbed the condition "mobile phone dermatitis".
