Eighties PC manufacturer is reborn but why now?

The launch of a new netbook this week was unexpected, but the rejuvenation of an 80s computing brand that is behind it took everyone by surprise.
A day before the official launch, we spoke to Apricot CEO Shahid Sultan about the PicoBook Pro, and what he believes it offers over other netbooks from the likes of Asus and MSI.
And he seems confident of success. "Many offerings in the sub-laptop market are missing the point", he said. "A mobile PC user fundamentally wants to be able to connect to the internet whenever and wherever they are and to be able to use it for a prolonged period of time, without needing to charge the batteries. We have created a PC that is truly mobile and - despite its high quality credentials, functionality and look and feel - it is also affordable".
