T-Mobile G1 will hit the shelves in October

Ahead-of-schedule debut for Android phone

15 October 2008 16:47 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Although slated for launch in November, and making a nice change from the more usual delays, T-Mobile has announced the hotly anticipated T-Mobile G1 will be available in the UK from 30 October.

Exclusive to T-Mobile, the Android-based 3G G1 claims to offer a completely new mobile internet experience with full touchscreen functionality plus a QWERTY keyboard.

The company has also revealed that over 25,000 UK consumers have pre-registered their interest in the device. In the States this number is said to be around 1.5 million.

The G1 will be available for free on T-Mobile Combi and Flext price plans from £40 a month, including unlimited mobile internet browsing.
