Microsoft Equipt to launch in the UK

Over here and over-priced

Microsoft's new consumer-aimed software bundle, called, Equipt is to see a launch in the UK.

The bundle, part of Microsoft's Software as a Service strategy, combines productivity, online and security tools and will go on sale in Britain on 20 October.

Equipt is a subscription-based service that combines Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Windows Live OneCare and Windows Live tools.

Microsoft will be offering Equipt for £59.99 for a 1-year renewable subscription and PC World has been announced as the first partner to carry this service throughout the UK.

When launched in the States in July, Microsoft Equipt was $69.99 for a 1-year renewable subscription with each subscription good for three home PCs.
