Philips unveils new trio of DVD recorders

Philips launch excitingly named DVDR3300H, DVDR7300H and DVDR3305

Philips is promising that its latest DVD recorders are its most powerful to date, with the new trio comprising of two models incorporating Hard Disk Drives (DVDR3300H and DVDR7300H) along with a standalone recorder (DVDR3305).

The DVDR7300H and DVDR3300H are equipped with 250GB and 80GB Hard Disk Drives respectively, each storing approximately 400 hours and 130 hours of footage. Any viewed programmes are automatically stored on the 6-hour adjustable buffer and these can be retrieved for viewing, moved to the HDD itself or burnt to DVD+R/RW disc - so you need never miss a programme, even if you forget to press record.

DVD+R/RW discs can be done so at high-speed with the DVD7300H and DVDR3300H offering rapid x20 disc transfer. Furthermore, both players also offer Dual Layer DVD+R disc recording, doubling the recording capacity.

The DVDR7300H also benefits from the GUIDE Plus+ Interactive Programme Guide, which provides 7-day channel listings, completely free of charge.

Both players are equipped with i.Link, enabling perfect copies from devices such as camcorders, cameras and PCs, two RGB Scarts, while the DVDR7300H also sports HDMI connectivity for pristine digital video and digital audio.

The entry-level DVDR3305 records up to six hours on both DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs, offering four preset recording modes. In addition to Dual Media DVD disc support, the DVDR3305 also plays music and photos on CD-R/RW discs. With discs containing both MP3 and JPEG images, the DVDR3305 even lets the user enjoy photos in slideshow mode with suitable musical accompaniment.

To ensure accurate timer recording, the DVDR3305 utilises VIDEO Plus+ and PDC, while also allowing up to eight scheduled programmed recordings up to a month in advance.
